The Screening Team
In-School Scoliosis Screening
Since 2013, Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Guangzhou Education Bureau, Zhongshan Education Bureau and Sports Bureau teamed up with X-in Miao Charity to conduct thorough scoliosis screening on middle school students in Guangzhou and Zhongshan.
From 2013 to 2015, X-in Miao completed scoliosis screening with 37,000 middle school students in Guangdong province. The prevalence rate was 5.4%. Starting in 2016, X-in Miao has conducted a thorough scoliosis screening with middle school students from Guangzhou to Zhongshan. Up until today, more than 1.8 million students have participated in this screening project. This is the biggest and longest, and most widely affected public survey of scoliosis screening in China.
The Screening Team
This team established in 2013 with help from the Guangdong Provincial Development of Education, Youth Development Foundation, and Scoliosis Center from The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. The team members have undergone formal scoliosis screening training and have rich knowledge of the assessment and census operation. This team is the only operating team in China. The team has now completed scoliosis welfare screening with more than 1.8 middle school students in the Guangdong province (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, and Zhongshan). The screening accuracy rate is 95% or above. The team is recognized by the provincial and municipal government, peers, media, and the general public.
